Trailglow is a mobile app made by Foxfire Coaching (foxfirecoaching.com), run by Ty in Colorado, USA.
Effective date: October 19, 2026
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Where this policy lives: https://foxfirecoaching.com/app/privacy
We wrote this in plain English. The short version: what you write and record in Trailglow stays on your phone. We don’t have a server that receives it, we can’t read it, and we don’t sell or share it.
1. The short version
- Your check-ins, journal entries, voice notes, tracker days and program answers are saved only on your device.
- Trailglow has no account and no login. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
- Trailglow does not send your entries to us or to anyone else.
- No ads, no ad tracking, no analytics, no crash-reporting tools are built into the app.
- We never sell your information, and we don’t share it.
- You can delete everything anytime with Erase all my data in the app, or by uninstalling (see section 7).
2. What you put into Trailglow
Some of what you add may be sensitive, including information about your health, drinking, mood and mental well-being. Here is everything the app saves:
| What | Examples | Where it’s kept |
|---|---|---|
| What you’re working on | The areas you pick when you start (for example drinking, weight, grief, anxiety, burnout, or “not sure”) | On your device only |
| Daily check-ins | Mood (1โ5), cravings (0โ4), sleep (1โ5), and any short notes you add | On your device only |
| Trail Note entries | Your written answer to the daily prompt | On your device only |
| Voice notes (optional) | Audio you choose to record with your microphone | As an audio file on your device only |
| Tracker days | Whether you kept a day (for example an alcohol-free day or a run), and any notes or answers you add after a slip | On your device only |
| Program progress | Which days of a 30-day program you’ve completed, and your written answers | On your device only |
| A membership flag | A simple on/off setting the app uses for program access | On your device only |
We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, calendar, or any ID linked to you or your device. We don’t build a profile of you.
3. How the app uses this information
Only to make the app work for you on your phone: show your check-ins, draw your mood and craving charts, count your days on the tracker, remember where you are in a program, and play back your voice notes. Nothing is analyzed, uploaded, or used for advertising.
4. Where your information is stored
Everything is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone or tablet. Foxfire Coaching does not run a server for Trailglow, so we have no copy of your entries and can’t see, recover or restore them.
Please know:
- Device backups. Trailglow’s data is not included in Android app backups. On iPhone, if iCloud Backup is on for your device, Apple may include app data under Apple’s own policies and your settings โ not ours.
- Your phone’s security matters. Anyone who can unlock your phone and open the app can see your entries. A screen lock helps keep your journal private. Trailglow does not add its own passcode or extra encryption at this time.
- No syncing. Trailglow’s data isn’t included in Google’s cloud backups. When you move to a new phone, some phone-to-phone transfer tools may copy app data over, depending on your phone maker. Otherwise your entries stay on the old phone, and if you lose it, they may be lost.
5. Permissions the app asks for
- Microphone (optional). Trailglow asks to use your microphone only so you can record voice notes. Recordings are saved on your device and are never uploaded. If you say no, everything else still works and you can type instead. You can change this anytime in your phone’s settings.
- Internet access and network status. Trailglow checks whether you’re online so it can show a friendly notice when you’re offline. It doesn’t send your entries anywhere.
- Network and Wi-Fi status. Used only to tell whether you’re online.
- Audio settings. Used so voice notes record and play back properly.
- Notifications (optional daily reminder). If you turn on the daily reminder, Trailglow schedules it on your phone. Nothing is sent to us, and you can turn it off in the app or in Android settings.
- Vibration. Used for small tap feedback (haptics).
6. Links that leave the app
Some buttons open other apps or websites. When you tap them, you leave Trailglow, and that service’s own privacy policy applies. Trailglow doesn’t send your journal or check-in data with these links.
- Booking a free call with Ty. “Book a call” buttons open Calendly (https://calendly.com/veiledheat/30min) in your browser. If you book, Calendly collects what you enter there (like your name and email) and shares it with us so we can hold the call. Calendly’s privacy policy applies to that booking.
- Crisis lines. The “I’m struggling right now” screen has buttons that open your phone’s dialer or texting app, or a website, for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988, or chat at 988lifeline.org), Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), the SAMHSA National Helpline (1-800-662-4357), and 911. Those calls, texts and chats go straight from your phone to those services. Trailglow doesn’t record or see them, and each service has its own privacy practices.
7. Deleting your information
Because everything lives on your device, you’re in control:
- Delete everything: uninstall Trailglow, or on Android go to Settings โ Apps โ Trailglow โ Storage โ Clear storage. This permanently erases your entries from the app. We can’t undo it or recover anything, because we never had a copy.
- Remove a voice note: tap Remove on the note. That deletes the audio file from the app.
- Change a day’s check-in: saving a new check-in for the same day replaces that day’s earlier one.
Erase everything from inside the app: open the Ty tab, tap Erase all my data, then confirm. This deletes your check-ins, Trail Notes, voice notes, tracker and program progress from this phone. It can’t be undone, because we never had a copy. Uninstalling Trailglow, or Settings โ Apps โ Trailglow โ Storage โ Clear storage, also wipes everything. There’s nothing for us to delete on our end, but you’re welcome to email us with questions (section 13).
8. We don’t sell or share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We don’t share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. Trailglow has no ads.
9. Future purchases
Trailglow may later offer a paid membership or paid programs. Paid features aren’t active in the app yet, and no payment is collected today.
When purchases are turned on, they’ll be handled by Google Play (on Android) or Apple’s App Store (on iPhone). You’ll pay through your store account, and Google or Apple process the payment under their own privacy policies. We never see or store your card details. We may use a purchase-management service to confirm which features you’ve unlocked and to let you restore purchases. That service would receive purchase information such as an anonymous app user ID, what you bought, and when, but never your journal, check-ins or voice notes. We’ll name that service here before purchases go live.
10. Children and age
Trailglow is made for adults. It talks about alcohol, recovery and hard seasons of life, so it is meant for people 18 and older. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. (The app doesn’t send us any information at all.) If you’re a parent and have concerns, contact us at ty@foxfirecoaching.com.
11. Coaching, not therapy or medical advice
Trailglow and Foxfire Coaching offer peer coaching, journaling and encouragement. We are not therapists, counselors, or medical providers, and the app is not therapy, treatment, or medical advice. It’s not meant to diagnose or treat any condition, including alcohol use or mental health conditions, and it doesn’t replace professional care. If you’re thinking about changing how much you drink, especially if you drink heavily every day, please talk with a doctor first, because stopping suddenly can be dangerous.
12. If you’re in crisis
Trailglow is not a crisis service, and no one watches what you enter in the app. If you’re in danger or thinking about ending your life:
- Call or text 988 (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US, 24/7), or chat at https://988lifeline.org/chat/
- Text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line)
- If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911.
13. Changes and contact
If we change how Trailglow handles information, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date. If a change is important (for example, if we ever add an online account or start sending data off your device), we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask for your OK where the law or the app stores require it.
